An Overview

Geography is one of the oldest and most active fields of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The major purpose of the field is to investigate the mutual relationship between human and environment and to determine the efficacy of each one to the other, in the form of regional ecological analysis. Thus, Geography scrutinizes the relations between man and environment in explaining the geographical phenomena. Based on this scientific knowledge, it develops the human ability to improve the conditions of human life. This field, in terms of its breadth and domain, is divided into two major disciplines: Human Geography and Physical Geography, each one having several various sub-disciplines.
