B.A. Program
Undergraduate students are required to complete 136 credit hours within 8 semesters of enrollment toward the degree.
M.A. Program
The major aim of this program is to train students to teach different English language courses at universities and institutions of higher education and meet the needs of society. The number of credit hours required to earn the Master's degree is 32 (28 theoretical credits and 4 thesis credits).
Ph.D. Program
The chief aim of this program is to train students to teach different English language courses. Graduate students must complete their degree within a maximum of 8 and a minimum of 6 semesters of enrollment. This is commonly thought of in 2 phases of progress: coursework and dissertation. The second phase of the study begins with successfully passing the comprehensive exam (the conclusion of phase 1) and ends with the dissertation defense.
B.A Program
- 1.In order for undergraduate students to complete courses in 4 academic years, their semester load must range from 12 to 20 hours toward the degree. For students with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 17, a maximum of 24 credits can be attempted.
- 2.Students who are on academic probation with a GPA of less than 12 must elect a course load of no more than 14 credits.
- 3.Students who fail to achieve a GPA of 12 after spending 3 consecutive semesters (or 4 total semesters) on probation, may be academically dismissed from the University.
- 4.An unexcused absence from a final examination will result in a mark of zero entered for that course.
- 5.Class attendance is mandatory. Students who are deemed absent for more than 3 class sessions in a row will have a mark of zero entered for that course and will consequently be dropped from the course.
- 6.Students with a GPA of at least 17 who attend the 3 summer terms of the undergraduate degree program (6 credits each), will graduate a semester early.
- 7.Undergraduate students who rank first during the program are admitted into graduate courses without taking the entrance examination.
